  3. Prepare 2 yellow bell peppers, sliced
  4. Make ready 2 yellow onions, sliced
  5. Take 1 Splash of balsamic vinegar
  6. Take 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  7. Make ready 1 cup roughly chopped fresh basil leaves
  8. Take 4 -6 garlic cloves, chopped
  9. Prepare 2 tsp tomato paste
  10. Take 15 oz can of diced tomatoes
  11. Get 24 oz jar of your favorite tomato sauce
  12. Get salt and pepper
  13. Get 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  14. Make ready 1 freshly chopped parsely and/or parmesan to top

  1. CROCKPOT VERSION- In a sauté pan brown your sausages on all sides, don’t worry about cooking them through, just get a nice color on them.
  2. Once browned add a splash of balsamic vinegar to the pan and use a wooden spoon to scrape up the bits.
  3. Poor the sausages and and drippings into your crockpot.
  4. Add the rest of the ingredients to your crockpot, Set it for medium-high for 6-8 hours.
  5. STOVETOP VERSION-In a dutch oven or similar sized pot brown your sausages on all sides, don’t worry about cooking them through, just get a nice color on them.
  6. Once browned add a splash of balsamic vinegar to the pan and use a wooden spoon to scrape up the bits.
  7. Add your onions, peppers, and garlic to the pot, cook until everything begins to soften.
  8. Add the rest of the ingredients, stir together and let it lightly simmer on the stove on medium low for 1-2 hours.
