The ingredients needed to make Versatile Savoury Rice:
  1. Take 250 g basmati rice
  2. Prepare 2 tbsp ground nut oil
  3. Prepare 1 medium onion
  4. Get carrots, courgettes, mushrooms, bell peppers, chilli peppers
  5. Get Tamari soy sauce
  6. Prepare Chicken stock
  7. Prepare Mixed dry herbs
  8. Get to taste Salt & pepper

Instructions to make Versatile Savoury Rice:
  1. Boil the rice for 10 mins and then rinse under cold running water until water runs clear.
  2. In a high sided pan, heat the oil and then add the onions. Cook for 5 mins until softened and then add the other vegetables if desired.
  3. Cook vegetables for another 3 mins and then add the rice, mixed herbs, salt and pepper and "fry" for a further 10 mins.
  4. Add several glugs of soy sauce to the pan and coat the rice. Then add the mixed herbs and the chicken stock, about a cup and cover. Keep adding the chicken stock a little at a time until cooked the rice is cooked
  5. Season with salt and pepper and then serve as a main dish or a side. 8
